An intimate environment and a soft lighting were the ingredients of New Air’s live exhibition at Spazio Ebbro on 23rd November in Rome. After the show at the Villaggio Cultura – Pentatonic, the duo has offered a session of touching improvisation, aggressive and soft at the same time, able to open new musical frontiers. Andrea Morganti‘s technique once again found a happy union with the incredible sounds of Gabriele Carone, confirming the cohesion of a group now firm and close-knit.
The Jam Session was divided into two different acts, interspersed with a central interlude.
At the side of the stage the painter Dario Falasca has painted three watercolors during the time of the live performance. The “fusion of different genres and different arts” has thus materialized in the few square meters of the roman club, while futuristic sounds came from the speakers and live on a screen were projected images of a sound that slowly took shape. “While we were playing, the water in the glass and on the sheet was moving, and gave it’s own life to the drawing” Falasca said at the end of the concert, while the spectators had gathered around the duo. “Touching”, “Unique”, “Innovative”, “Brilliant” are the comments which were heard within the walls of the Spazio Ebbro, amid an astonished public struck by an innovation that – more than to shock – aims to present harmony.
The concert on the 23rd November was followed by the event on Thursday 27th November at Alvarado Street, in the Pigneto area. Fair turnout and excellent quality of the sound satisfied New Air. More improvisation, experimentation and again fusion of different arts thanks to Martina Mancinelli and Federico Colarieti, whose paintings have offered more unique insights to an attentive and involved audience.
There haven’t been only concerts during the month of November, the New Air have also worked on the mastering of their new album, which will probably be entitled “Breakfast With:”. The contents of the album – coming out in 2015 – have not yet been released by the band.
